US Biofuels increase rather than decrease CO2 emissions.

Geoff Brown at The Australian Climate Sceptics Blog - 9 minutes ago
An article published in Climate Change under the title Carbon balance effects of U.S. biofuel production and use DeCicco, J.M., Liu, D.Y., Heo, J. et al. Climatic Change (2016). doi:10.1007/s10584-016-1764-4 comes to the conclusion that: Once estimates from the literature for process emissions and displacement effects including land-use change are considered, the conclusion is that U.S. biofuel use to date is associated with a net increase rather than a net decrease in CO2 emissions. Glickson, consensus and hysteria: the state of alarmism

Geoff Brown at The Australian Climate Sceptics Blog - 9 minutes ago
*Anthony Cox* Andrew Glikson is implacable in his alarmism. His latest effort is to organise 154 fellow academics, all on the public teat, to write a letter pleading to shut down coal and basically Australia’s economy. The letter is a cliché of alarmist platitudes and shibboleths. One such cliché is misanthropy. Glikson and his fellow alarmists agree with Turnbull’s ridiculous statement that human influence on Earth is a *massive science experiment*with *catastrophic* results. Glikson is like other alarmists who compare human influence to 4 atomic bombs going off every second. Why ... more »

A wonderful book I'd highly recommend is *Crazy Horse: The Strange Man* *of the Oglalas* by Mari Sandoz. I want to share one story from the book. After gold was discovered in the Black Hills the U.S. Army was sent in to clear the Indians out of their paha sapa even though they had been promised in a previous treaty that they would "own" this territory as long as the grass grew green. The inevitable battle led to Custer's last stand and the resulting major military campaign to bring the "hostiles" onto reservations in the dusty lands of southwest South Dakota. Some form of trade contact was then sustained through to the Roman era but ended with the collapse of the Western empire and the advent of Islam. *“The Dark Dynamics of the Deep State,” Introduction* by Michael Covel "We live in an age of complete lack of accountability. Our institutions fail regularly. And there are no consequences. When American politicians used to violate the public trust by lying, they faced consequences, like being voted out of office or resigning in disgrace. But that’s not the case anymore. Today, our ruling class lies about issues both big and small without consequence. It happens on both sides of the political aisle. The public does nothing about it. And the Deep State uses this apathy to further c... more »

The vile Arnolds have made their fortune through fracking and charter schools and they happily push their greedy agenda by financing right-wing candidates, some Republicans but primarily Democrats from the Republican wing of the Democratic Party, like, besides Khanna (their biggest candidate investment),... more »

In A Race Between Two Really Awful Senate Candidates, The Only Good Move Is To Refuse To Participate

Chuck Schumer has managed-- along with Montana sock puppet Jon Tester-- to set up a series of lesser-of-two-evils contests that will determine which party controls Congress. Ted Strickland and Katie McGinty are obviously unqualified to be U.S. senators and nothing would ever get me to vote for either. But then look at the garbage each one is running against: respectively Rob Portman and Pat Toomey. Portman is worse than Strickland and Toomey is worse than McGinty, but that doesn't make either Strickland or McGinty any more fit for office. Schumer planted a series of discredited li... more »

An activity performed on one particle can instantaneously change the properties of the other particle, no matter how far apart. And- this is the kicker- apparently instantaneously.
