The *Occupy Movement* came and went. Yet it was never truly
confrontational. It was vocal, a revolving protest, that, in retrospect,
seems more of a whiney lament than a drive to compel change.
Today's Gen X'ers and Millennials seem unaware that the change they're
going to need is rarely achieved without a fight especially when plutocracy
has displaced democracy as the operating system of the state. The
oligarchs will not willingly yield the political power they have truly

As I mentioned in Friday night's preview, I came away from a recent

well, impressed but unenchanted. The violinist and pianist seemed earnest

there didn't seem any doubt about their appreciation for the music. And yet

The U.S. aviation industry had mustered fierce political opposition, China

influential European nations feared retaliation against their national
carriers. Chinese and Indian airlines refused to submit emissions data;

There are, it turns out, two plane crashes which make a great deal of
difference in how the Watergate story played out.
The first one actually had happened back on October 16, a month before the
election. The plane carrying Democratic House Majority Leader Hale Boggs
(and Member of the House Nick Begich disappeared over Alaska. The plane,
and those aboard, were never found. The tragedy elevated Tip O'Neill to the
number two spot among House Democrats; O'Neill saw, perhaps sooner than
anyone else or at least anyone else in a position to do anything about it,
that Watergate could cut ... more »

congressional race of 2012 was a run-off today in Louisiana's 3rd
