BOLIVIA: "THIS IS A COP OF CLIMATE CHANGE NOT A COP OF CARBON TRADE"
Bolivia continues the fight against carbon markets, and the bias that prevents the voice of developing countries from being heard
The Vice-Chancellor of the Plurinational State of Bolivia, Juan Carlos Alurralde said, "The text was imbalanced and did not include the position and proposals of developing countries, since it was not adaptation, transfer of technology, attention to disaster, or financing that were the fundamental agreements in Bali...Ironically in the document are the mechanisms based on the carbon market, and exclude the proposal uploaded for Bolivia, the mechanism of no market within financing, a topic of great concern for those who support this proposal, countries such as China, Cuba, Egypt, Dominican Republic, El Salvador, India, Iraq, Iran, Malaysia, Mali, Sudan, Venezuela and others,"However it is very evident that the facilitator of the ACL has overlooked entirely the proposals to not market, that’s why Bolivia with a very strong position going to trace the theme and raise the formation of working groups that raise profound decisions, and does listen to the voices of the world"Are we going to allow this COP about climate change to become a COP of carbon trade?
That was a question raised by Juan Carlos Alurralde the Vice Chancellor of Bolivia, who was present in the conference. When he took the floor he expressed the following words: "… Carbon markets are not a solution to the climate change crisis… Instead of discussing one of the instruments for supporting mitigation actions, which is carbon markets.; I repeat: ONE of the instruments which effectiveness is still pending of analysis, but from our view is a complete mistake, instead of that, we should discuss the structural elements of a comprehensive response to Climate Change Crisis.
We have to say that at least four realistic predictable risks are linked to the application and generalization of carbon markets: 1. Double counting implying an additional 1,6 Gigatones (GT) to the atmosphere. 2. Non aditionalities with an increase of 0,4 GT Gigatones 3. The use of the carry over which implies 11 GT 4.
From your nonscientist fount of personal opinions : This sounds like a replay of the problem that led to Copenhagen being a wash. One agenda was promoted - but when the conference arrived the position papers were different.

That's right, the developed world, our team. It's on us. Not entirely, of

THE 'FEUDAL' ELITE
*Belvedere Palace; elite*
It was not Ronald Reagan or the Jews who brought in the system whereby the
rich elite control much of the wealth of the country.
The adjective *feudal* was invented in the 17th century, and the noun*

reportedly brought in some kind of harsh 'Feudal System', under which the
top people controlled most of the wealth.

Clinton says "desperate" Assad could use chemical arms
Washington fears a "desperate" Syrian President Bashar al-Assad could use
chemical weapons as rebels bear down on Damascus, Secretary of State
Hillary Clinton said on Wednesday, repeating a vow to take swift action if
he does.
Rebels fighting to overthrow Assad said they had surrounded an air base
near Damascus, a fresh sign that battle is closing in on the Syrian
capital, a day after NATO agreed to send air defense missiles to Turkey.

Republicans are willing to enact some extremely complex schemes in order to

Ethnic Germans: A Forgotten Genocide
Video found at the excellent blog *Justice for Germans*:
*It is estimated that between 12 and 15 million ethnic Germans, including
children, were systematically expelled, tortured, raped, put in camps,
starved, enslaved and executed after World War II from 1944-1948, and
later. Their only crime was being German. These actions were many cases
government sanctioned and done in full knowledge of the victorious allies.
To date, no one has ever been held accountable, and most do not know or do
not acknowledge this genocide.*

Germany puts brake on bank union plan
Plans to create a eurozone banking union hit a brick wall on Tuesday after
Germany's influential finance minister cautioned over moving too quickly,
casting doubts over whether the EU would seal a deal by the end of the year.
The objections from Wolfgang Schäuble come just a week before a summit of
EU leaders and raise the prospect of a significant delay to establishing a
single eurozone banking supervisor, a reform billed as critical to
rebuilding confidence in the bloc's shaky financial sector.

America Must Stop Subsidizing Evil And Greed Of Walmart And Others
By Manifesto Joe
I think we just had, in effect, a U.S. plebiscite on whether the American
people want continued plutocracy, as we have known it for decades, or at
long last some more populist alternative. Now comes time to look more
closely at how the institutions that make up this country actually operate,
and there's one huge corporate one in particular needs a good and proper
ass-kicking.
Walmart is profiting, to the tune of billions annually, from government
handouts. Their corporate welfare is mainly "indirect": In some locations,
as many as 80% of their "associates" are food... more »

What's Wrong With Our Food?

to wildebeests being eaten alive by unregulated and ravenous hedge fund
billionaires hyenas. I haven't been able to get Dalio's images, especially
the horrific video I added to the post, out of my mind. And then, today I
came across a radio interview-- the video above-- with Frederick Kaufman,
food journalist and author of Bet The Farm. Kaufman makes the point that

William Cox’s letter (Nov. 26, page 8) is obviously well meant, but
illustrates several major problems with foreigners commenting on former

For example, Chen has a desk and does not write on the floor. Errors like

a rarely discernable faint glow known as the gegenschein (German for

"When negative thoughts arise it is best to address them rather than
pushing them down where they will surface again. For the last several
years, there has been a lot of focus on the power of positive thinking.
Many people have come to misinterpret this wisdom to mean that it is not
okay to have a bad mood or a negative thought or feeling. This can lend a
kind of superficiality to their relationship with life and relationships
with other people. It can also lead them to feel that if a negative t... more »

Rogue States: A Redefinition

So essentially, it's the entire planet on one side, versus the US, its new

the other side.
If you're a member in good standing of the Washington-based US foreign
policy community, then the way you describe these matters is as follows:
"the international community stands by Israel and supports its position" -
because, in that warped, self-affirming world, "international community" is
