Judith Miller (born January 2, 1948) is a Pulitzer Prize-winning American journalist, formerly of the New York Times Washington bureau. Her coverage of Iraq's alleged Weapons of Mass Destruction (WMD) program both before and after the 2003 invasion generated much controversy.^[1] A number of stories she wrote while working for the New York Times later turned out to be inaccurate or completely false.^[2][3][4][5]

Miller was later involved in disclosing Valerie Plame's identity as CIA personnel. She spent three months in jail for claiming reporter's privilege and refusing to reveal her sources in the CIA leak. Miller retired from her job at the New York Times in November 2005. Later she was a contributor to the Fox News Channel and a fellow at the conservative Manhattan Institute think-tank.

The Daily Caller's Jamie Weinstein did the legwork in demonstrating just how far from the truth some of the film's central claims are. Chief among them, perhaps unsurprisingly, is that Scooter Libby, Vice President Dick Cheney's chief of staff, and other White House officials exerted political pressure on intelligence officials to cherrypick intelligence favorable to claims that Iraq possessed weapons of mass destruction.

In fact, not only did Libby do no such thing, but according to the Robb-Silbermann Commission, which investigated the intelligence behind the Iraq war, "The analysts who worked Iraqi weapons issues universally agreed that in no instance did political pressure cause them to skew or alter any of their analytical judgments."

But the minority Conservative government has refused to respect the traditions and democratic decisions of Canadians, and instead has deported war resisters to be jailed in the US.Canada’s Minister of Immigration Jason Kenney has prejudiced the immigration proceedings of Iraq War resisters by making biased comments in the media and by issuing a directive to immigration officers that singles out war resisters as potential criminals.The US government and it’s military apparatus has demonstrated in abundance a cruel indifference towards their own servicemen and women, treating them as cannon fodder, to be used up and forgotten. After being sent on multiple consecutive tours of duty, an untold number of soldiers lives, and the lives of their families and communities have been ruined permanently, by the scars of trauma. Iraq war veterans are now returning and speaking out against the military, telling horrific stories of blatant human rights abuses, murder, and violation of international law like the Geneva Convention.

Canada once had a tradition for providing sanctuary to conscientious objectors, and welcomed more than 50,000 draft resisters and deserters from the Vietnam war. For those whom the anguish is too unbearable, those with the morality and courage to defy their military “superiors” are forced to abandon the country they sought to defend, leaving their communities to come to Canada

An organization exists in Canada, The War Resisters, to provide vets refuge, homes to live in and assistance and often, legal support in receiving immigration status. The will of the majority of Canadians, and its parliament is to welcome and support US Iraq war veterans in need of asylum in Canada. Yet vets are being denied their immigration claims and are being deported.

Canada welcomes immigration claims by many seeking refugee status, but refuses those that have felony charges. Because desertion is a felony crime in the US, the Federal Court of Canada is treating war vets as “criminally inadmissible” for a refugee immigration claim. Yet, she explained, when they tried to make the case that the vets were objecting to the legality of the war, and the crimes against humanity being committed by the US military, the courts are dismissing these arguments as “inadmissible” in the trials.
This is an indication that the denial of the veterans immigration claims are political in nature, the Canadian government is deliberately going along with the desires of the US military, to discourage more American soldiers from going AWOL. If deported, vets are court martialled by the military and dishonorably discharged, then charged with felony crimes and imprisoned.
