What Are Pages?

It seems I have a chance to revamp the layout to carry static reference pages rather than incorporating them into the blog and  repeatedly backlinking. Has anybody done it yet ?

One local paper seems to carry the closest line of stories to my picks. Who'd a thunk ?

Victoria’s Secret expanding in Canada

The owner of Victoria’s Secret and La Senza wants to triple the division’s Canadian retail sales to more than $1-billion within four years.
“This is a growth story,” said Joanne Nemeroff, president of Limited Brands Canada, a new Montreal-based unit announced yesterday to oversee banners including La Senza, Bath and Body Works, Victoria’s Secret and Victoria’s Secret Pink as they expand in Canada.
“The opportunity to expand the market in bras is enormous,” added Ms. Nemeroff, who acknowledged that Victoria’s Secret’s arrival may initially erode La Senza’s market share but said she and Martin Waters, president of Limited’s international division, believe Canada’s lingerie market is large enough for both players. Ms. Nemeroff also remains at the helm of Canadian lingerie chain La Senza, which Ohio-based Limited acquired in 2006 for $710-million.
( The opportunity to expand the bras..more than $1 billion....Just how many people do they think we have north of the 49th, anyway ? )

Obsolete
My head just exploded
I see there's a correlation between an awful politician having a truly dreadful website. Is there anyone from the three main parties with anything worse than Phil Woolas' abomination? It's as if Geocities and MySpace had a love child.

Citizens United: A Case Which Will Live in Infamy

The five member Republican majority of the Court in Citizens United has become the legal instrument for a new 21st Century inequity by extending to artificial, inter-generational constructs known as "corporations" the rights that the framers of the Constitution had intended only to apply to living, breathing people who make up the actual citizenry of this nation.
It is a ruling that calls into question the validity of all laws which seek to prohibit or even limit the ability of corporate bought-and-paid-for candidates to flood the airwaves with the corporate message, either directly or through corporate-purchased propaganda time slots; an ability that can drown out the right of citizens to see and hear those who do not tow the corporate line. Citizens United has opened the door to the creation of a new master-class under the aegis of the most undemocratic of institutions --- the private corporation.

Newcastle University scientists creating three-parent embryo

The aim is to correct faulty "cellular batteries" - mitochondria - which can cause fatal heart, liver, neurological and muscle conditions, by replacing them with healthy ones from a donated embryo.
A child would inherit genetic material from three parents. The mother and father would supply 99.8 per cent of its DNA, with a small amount from another woman, the mitochondrial donor.
